| Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Union County, Inc. is an independent, non-profit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of children in out-of-home-placement. CASA of Union County, Inc. trains community volunteers who work to ensure that needed services and assistance are made available, in a timely fashion, to children in placement while helping to move them as quickly as possible toward safe and permanent homes. Here in Union County, over 700 children are living in out-of-home placement because their homes are no longer safe. These children lead uncertain lives; some are in foster care, others in group homes or shelters. Many of them are separated from their siblings and many don’t understand what has happened or why. |

| CASA programs and their volunteers exist solely to help these children, innocent victims of abuse and neglect. CASA of Union County volunteers reside in the county and vary in age, gender and socioeconomic background. They permanency either with their biological or adoptive family; and that they are protected from any further risk of abuse. In short, CASA volunteers become an objective voice for the child in the court process as well as a consistent and caring person in the child's life.. |
